CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

I'm glad to finally share a first impression of my time in Bouar, Central African Republic.

This video shows the results of a semester of intense work with two of my students, those who were particularly down to learning about Jazz.

First of all I want to say thanks to African Music School for having me teaching drums, jazz (etc.) throughout academic year 2023-2024 and to all the students who did huge efforts to overcome the culutral barriers! Franclin Ngamana and Juvence Fenazi, which can be seen playing in the video here, were 2 of the most ambitious students, and I really hope all their effort and their positive attitude will pay off for them one day! It was a big pleasure to accompaign such young talents, who, if not due to AMS would never have access to the huge world of modern, global music.

Watch out for some more material to come! This is one of my favorites, as it shows not only our work, but also a tiny slice of the daily life in Bouar. However, soon there will be some more material which we all worked very hard for and which I'm more than glad to share!
